General researcher profile:

I may be associate professor of musicology and a senior lecturer in intermedial studies, but these disciplinary categories don’t say much about who I am and what I do. Reality is something other than what these constructed disciplinary boundaries expresses. Instead, I consider myself a critical humanist who works across boundaries. Boundaries are markers for my way of moving into and out of different fields with the multimodal human being at the center. In light of this, I rather consider myself a porous sponge that absorbs what the context offers. Regardless of what this might be, something always gets stuck in the sponge – even dirt can be useful for the thought. Since January 2023, I have been loosely sketching ideas that focus on medical terms and their etymological origins, with the aim of integrating them within humanities, and I am also part of a collaborative project with the Blood Cancer Association as a blood cancer patient.
