Courses in higher education teaching and learning - autumn 2023
The courses in higher education teaching and learning are mandatory for everyone who teaches at Lund University. Courses are offered by the Division for Higher Education Development. On this webpage, you will find information about the courses for teaching in higher education offered during the autumn 2023.
Application instructions
Apply via the application form for each course in the list below. Please see course content, scheduled and compulsory meetings etcetera on the AHU website before you apply. It is not recommended to attend more than one course per semester. Doctoral students must consult their supervisor and other staff should have an approval from their head of department. Please note that some courses have special requirements.
Mandatory courses on teaching and learning for teachers and doctoral students
Lund University's employment act requires at least five weeks of course work for academic positions. This requirement is met by taking these courses:
- Teaching and learning in higher education
- Course design in higher education.
Doctoral students are required to take the first of these two courses.
Teachers, who supervise students in doctoral education, must have undergone special supervisor training:

The last day of registration for the autumn courses was 8 June.

Course fee
The courses offered by the Division for Higher Education Development (AHU) are paid for by the Joint Faculties of Humanities and Theology if you are admitted to the course and employed at the faculties. If, however, you fail to attend without having cancelled your registration at least 14 days prior to the start of the course, your department may be charged a fee.
