I am a Professor in Language Education at the Centre for Languages andLiterature (SOL).
My research involves the psychology of language learning and languageteaching. I am interested in motivation, language learners’ communicationbehaviors, language teachers’ motivational practices and teacher identitydevelopment. I have a particular interest in multilingualism, and haveinvestigated motivation in relation to English, Modern Languages, and Swedishas a Second Language.
I have been the principal investigator for two projects financed by theSwedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet).
Motivational teaching in Swedish secondaryEnglish (MoTiSSE), 2014–2018 (7 400 000 SEK)
Migration,host-country language learning, and the influence of global English, 2019–2022
(4 400 000 SEK).
