Retired since Nov. 2009, I can now concentrate on research although I still teach. I created and started a mentor’s program in 2001 for the Faculties of Humanities and Theology and was coordinator until Nov. 2009. It is now an integral part of all departments. I am involved in an evaluation project for it.
My main area of research is the Aegean Bronze Age, where I have concentrated on various aspects of the material culture and the society. Among these areas are pottery, statistical analyses, metals and metallurgy (specifically tin), trade and contacts, trade routes, craft specialization and society, social dynamics and interaction, and color symbolism. I have incorporated natural science into my research, primarily in looking for ways to determine sources of tin ores, which directly affects contacts, trade, social structure, etc. Working on the Aegean BA led me automatically to Egypt and the Near East, but also to central and N. Europe, and even to the Iron Age for all these areas.

In the Research Portal you can search and find information about all active researchers, units, publications, projects, infrastructures, and more, to get an overview of Lund University research.
