My main research interests are within theoretical linguistics (syntax, semantics, pragmatics, morphology) and neurolinguistics. I currently look at the role of memory in language processing. In a series of EEG experiments I investigate how the brain's processing of pronouns (e.g. he, she) is affected by, on the one hand, the distance between the pronoun and the phrase it refers back to and, on the other hand, the information density of the phrase it refers back to. In previous projects, I have looked at the processing of pronouns referring back to quantifying expressions (e.g. almost all/almost no students attended the lecture... they...), and more generally at how anaphoric expressions are processed in the brain. I am a member of AcademiaNet - Outstanding Women Scientists in Europe and I am part of the network NLS - Neurolinguistics in Sweden.

In the Research Portal you can search and find information about all active researchers, units, publications, projects, infrastructures, and more, to get an overview of Lund University research.
