Tutorial: Introduction to databases: managing and analysing historical data
Historians use many different kinds of materials and sources. Working with large amounts of data in digital form can feel overwhelming. Building a database can help you manage sprawling sources, look for social, temporal, and geographic connections between your materials, and visualize the results. This introduction to databases for historians covers how the use of databases can aid your projects, how to get started – and when not to use a database. The workshop is led by Anna Nilsson Hammar (History) and Mathias Johansson (Media history & Lund University Humanities lab).
No previous experience is required.
Workshop language: English.
