This second level course carries the study of the field and history of the book and other forms of graphic communication further, through thematic studies of print cultures including commercial print, the historical practices of reading, the history of book collecting and the function of libraries. Current scientific attitudes are treated, and the course is finished by the writing of a smaller, research-based, supervised paper.
