Welcome to SOL!
The SOL building brings together several departments and units in the academic discipline of humanities. Here you can meet students and researchers from the Centre for Languages and Literature, the Department of Communication and Media and the Humanities Lab which is an interdisciplinary research technology and training facility. You can also find the following support units: The International Office, the Employment forum as well as the Student Union for Humanities and Theology (HTS).
SOL Opening hours
Due to covid-19 : The building is closed to the public until further notice.
Just LU-empployees and LU -students can enter with LU-card + pin.
LU-employees and LU-students have access to the main entrances (into the main foyer) weekdays 8.00 am - 5.00 pm.
HT-employees have always access.
The entrances into the main foyer and Absalon are open Monday to Friday 6:30 am -10:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm for HT-students and Department of Communication and Media students holding a LU-card and pin. NB! Use these entrances if you have an evening class.
If you have an exam and the buidling is closed, please use the closest entrance, see https://www.sol.lu.se/en/education/student-resources/assessment-and-examination/exams/
If there are any other planned acitivites, the closest entrance will be open.

- Reception The reception is located in the atrium of the SOL building.
- Premises On this page you will find overview maps and practical information regarding the SOL building, such as information about accessibility, computer facilities and places to study.
- Caretaker The Caretaker’s office in the SOL building is located in room H109.
- Departments and units You can find the Centre for Languages and Literature, the Department of Communication and Media and the Humanities Lab in the SOL building. You can also find The International Office, the SOL Library, the Employment forum as well as the Student Union for Humanities and Theology (HTS) here.
