Welcome to SOL!

The SOL building brings together several departments and units in the academic discipline of humanities. Here you can meet students and researchers from the Centre for Languages and Literature, the Department of Communication and Media and the Humanities Lab which is an interdisciplinary research technology and training facility. You can also find the following support units: The International Office, the Employment forum as well as the Student Union for Humanities and Theology (HTS).

SOL Opening hours

Due to covid-19 the SOL-building has changed opening hours

March 20: 7:30 am - 4.00 pm

March 21: Closed 

From March 23 and until further notice

Monday-Friday: 9:00 am - 4.00 pm

Saturday-Sunday: Closed

The entrances into the main foyer and Absalon are open Monday to Friday 6:30 am -10:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm for HT-students and Department of Communication and Media students holding a LU-card and pin.

 

Opening hours during the summer

June 19-21: Closed (also for  HT-students and Department of Communication and Media students)

June 22 -July 24

Monday-Friday: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Saturday-Sunday: Closed

July 27-31

August 3-14

Monday-Friday: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Saturday-Sunday: Closed

August 17-28

Monday-Friday: 7:30 am - 5:00 pm

Saturday-Sunday: Closed

The entrances into the main foyer and Absalon are open Monday to Friday 6:30 am -10:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm for HT-students and Department of Communication and Media students holding a LU-card and pin. Holidays and Sundays the building is closed even for these students. Employees can always enter with LU-card and pin.

Monday-Friday: 7:30 am - 7:00 pm
Saturday: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Sunday: Closed

The entrances are open Monday to Friday 6:30 am -10:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm for HT-students and Department of Communication and Media students holding a LU-card.

During Sundays and public holidays the entrances are either closed or subjected to flexible opening hours.

If you have an exam and the building is closed, the closest entrance is open, see www.sol.lu.se/en/education/student-resources/assessment-and-examination/exams/

The closest entrance is always open if there are any planned activities in the building.

    The reception is located in the atrium of the SOL building.

  • Caretaker

    The Caretaker’s office in the SOL building is located in room H109.

  • Departments and units

    You can find the Centre for Languages and Literature, the Department of Communication and Media and the Humanities Lab in the SOL building. You can also find The International Office, the SOL Library, the Employment forum as well as the Student Union for Humanities and Theology (HTS) here.
