Higher education teaching and learning

Joint Faculties of Humanities and Theology

For academic positions, courses on teaching and learning are usually mandatory. At Lund university, at least five weeks of course work is required in order to be employed. All doctoral supervisors are required to have taken a course on doctoral supervision. If you are teaching as a doctoral student, you are required to do at least two weeks of course work (3 credits).

Courses

The Division for Higher Education Development (AHU) offers several electable courses on teaching and learning for teaching staff. Starting from the spring of 2024, the applications for the courses are made on the AHU website:

Course selection and application forms are available on AHU's website during the application period

It is not recommended to attend more than one course per semester. Doctoral students must consult their supervisor and other staff must have an approval from their head of department. Please note that some courses have special requirements. The courses offered by the Division for Higher Education Development (AHU) are paid for by the Joint Faculties of Humanities and Theology if you are admitted to the course and employed at the faculties. If, however, you fail to attend without having cancelled your registration at least 14 days prior to the start of the course, your department may be charged a fee.
