This course can be part of a master degree within the social sciences or the humanities. Exercises of a practical nature are a central part of the course. With a basis in rhetorical theory the student improves his or her capability to communicate effectively in both speech and writing, by adjusting arguments, outlines and linguistic styles for different communication situations. Presentation skills with regard to script techniques, the art of memorizing, body language and voice treatment are practiced, together with technical aids. The use of rhetoric in today’s society is also studied within the course, and the student is trained to critically analyze effecting communication.
