What is the connection between religion and sports?
From this question this course seeks to offer different historical and contemporary perspectives on the relation between sports and religion. At the centre of attention stands the relation between sports and Christianity during modernity, from the nineteenth century to the present time.
Moreover, we will study sports in connection to present spirituality and world views in a broader sense, and also explore the position of sports within other religious contexts, such as Islam and Judaism.
