Course
Course 15 credits • YIDB06
The course provides students with an overview of the fundamental features of the Jewish memory of the Holocaust focusing on the cultural manifestations of this memory in Europe (Western Europe, Central Europe and the former Soviet Union), USA and Israel.
Among the topics highlighted are important legal proceedings in which some of the main Nazi war criminals were put on trial, important products of history culture such as films, books, museums and memorials, and the memory of younger generations, such as survivors' children and grandchildren who were not directly affected by the Holocaust but grew up in the shadow of the trauma.
