Are you curious about how people understand, use, and process language? Do you want to learn more about how linguists work – and try doing research yourself? Then this course is for you. It offers both breadth and depth in linguistics, with a focus on research methods.
The course provides a solid foundation in linguistic research. You will learn how to study language scientifically, both in theory and practice. You’ll also get an introduction to psycholinguistics – an exciting field that explores how language functions in the brain.
The course consists of three parts
- Linguistic Research Methods (7.5 credits) – Learn how linguists work and try out different methods yourself.
- Psycholinguistics (7.5 credits) – Gain insight into how we perceive, produce, and process language.
- Thesis Project (15 credits) – Conduct your own research project in linguistics and present it in a thesis.
