Series
The publication series “A Publication from the Graduate School in History and History Didactics” contains licentiate theses written within the framework of the graduate school, which is a cooperation between the Department of History in Lund and the teacher training programme at Malmö University on continuing professional education of practising history teachers which was started in 2009. From the outset, the graduate school’s management group, consisting of Professor Klas-Göran Karlsson, reader Per Eliasson and Dr. Henrik Rosengren, has been responsible for editing the publication.
The History Didactics theme indicates that the publication series specialises in issues concerning the place of the historical dimension in culture, society and school, towards analyses of the meeting between people and history. The first volume Historia på väg mot framtiden. Historiedidaktiska perspektiv på skola och samhälle (2010) (History on the way to the future. History didactics perspectives on school and society) is an anthology with contributions from the graduate school’s 24 licentiate degree students which demonstrates the great breadth of the research field of History Didactics. At the same time, some core dimensions of History Didactics stand out. Problems related to the development and valuation of historical thinking and historical knowledge, processed with theories about and analyses of historical awareness, culture and use of history, are central to the publication series’ output.
The serier is also digitally available at the homepage of the Graduate School.
