Course
Course 15 credits • LIVR22
What can Russian literature tell us about society, history, and humanity? In this course, you’ll dive into some of the most influential texts in world literature – and explore how language, style, and culture intertwine in Russian storytelling across time.
This course offers an in-depth exploration of Russian literary studies. You’ll read and analyse a selection of literary texts from different periods in Russian literary history – from 19th-century poetry to contemporary novels and film.
You’ll learn to interpret texts both linguistically and stylistically, and place them in their historical and cultural contexts. You’ll also develop your ability to discuss and analyse literature in a scholarly way – both in writing and in conversation.
