This course is given on an advanced level and is for you who have completed 90 credits in Russian language or equivalent knowledge, as well as English 6. If you are taking our MA in Literature – Culture – Media, note that this course has overlapping content with the course LIVR22.
In this course, you read selected works of fiction in Russian, relating them to the development of Russian literary history. You learn to analyse literary texts by highlighting both stylistic and semantic aspects. You interpret them in relation to their cultural contexts and take part in scholarly discussions about your own and others’ interpretations. In addition, you may also analyse and interpret Russian film, considering periods, genres, and cultural contexts.
