Fokus Framtid: Democracy at the Crossroads

8 september 2026 13:00 till 15:00 Seminarium

Global and local voices on academic freedom, peace, democracy – and the heroes who defend them.

Democracy is being tested – in public discourse, in universities, in journalism, and in the fragile space between peace and freedom. At Fokus framtid, proudly hosted by Lund Humanities Village, speakers from the U.S. and Europe gather in Lund to engage with us on the defining democratic questions of our time, including the role of universities. From the images that shape democracy to the challenges of covering Trump’s America, from academic freedom to Ukraine and global responsibility, this is a conversation we cannot afford to postpone.

Join Ginna Lindberg (via a link from USA), Robert D. Resnick, Kurt Deketelaere, Jonas Hafström, Erik Renström, Ela Drazkiewicz, Elsa Hedling and students for an afternoon of urgent reflection, insight, and public conversation. With music by Tom & Robert’s Back Porch Blues Show, the programme brings together global and local voices, student perspectives, and the civic imagination needed for the future.
